Changes are abound at Metrix. We’ve recently changed our logo and branding, we’ve completely revamped our company Web site, metrix.com, and we’ve added Tom Bowe as a critical member of our management team.
In his new role as VP of Product Marketing and Engineering, Bowe will lead Metrix’s marketing and engineering organizations. His responsibilities will include enhancing and extending current product capabilities, identifying new market opportunities, increasing Metrix’s global presence and leading all development efforts across the company.
“This is a statement hire for Metrix. Attracting top talent from a world-class, Silicon Valley company like Oracle tells you who we are and where we are going,” said Larry Laux, CEO of Metrix. According to Laux, Metrix wasn’t looking to add to their management team, but found out that Bowe was looking to make a move and jumped at the opportunity.
“I’m thrilled to join Metrix and contribute to the company’s growth and future success,” said Bowe. “This year is an inflection point, not only for Metrix, but also the software industry as SOA and RIA technologies are embedded into next generation products. Metrix is a long-time leader in the service lifecycle management space and has some truly disruptive technology in place. I cannot think of a better place to be right now.”
Bowe holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University and a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University. Prior to joining Metrix, Bowe was Director of Product Marketing at Siebel, the undisputed market leader in CRM that was acquired by Oracle last year. He was hired by Siebel in 1998 to create a new product line called Siebel Field Service and subsequently built it into a $50 million business over four years. Prior to Siebel and Oracle, Bowe worked 10 years at GE Healthcare.
“Tom brings a wealth of knowledge to Metrix, with proven ability in software development and product strategy. We are very excited to have him join our management team and will leverage Tom’s expertise in creating high-impact, high-quality and easy-to-use enterprise software which will increase the value we provide our customers,” said Laux.
