Metrix Points to Strategic Importance and Bottom-Line Benefits of Web-based Product Service

Metrix VP of eBusiness Strategies, Doug Peters, provides new insights into eProductService™ and the Value Chain

Waukesha, WI — April 2, 2001 —Metrix, Inc. (www.metrix.com) has recently made available two new white papers. The most recent is entitled "The Service Chain: Its Impact on the Value Chain and Trading Exchanges" and is authored by Doug Peters, vice president of eBusiness strategies at Metrix. These white papers provide useful insights into elevating eService strategy to executive levels within product-oriented organizations. They also draw on the long-standing domain expertise, which has served to establish Metrix, Inc. as the leader in ProductService CRM™.

"The overwhelming majority of CRM applications are typically focused on the optimization and effectiveness of selling, marketing, and fulfillment activities. But what happens to the customer after the sales transaction when the product involved requires service? The service component is typically an afterthought, at the end of the demand chain. Progressive organizations are realizing that there are substantial benefits that can be gained by increasing the exposure of product service within go-to-market strategies, and thereby creating economic advantages for their companies and the customers they serve. For such organizations there is an increasing awareness of the importance of service strategy as a significant factor in their overall value chain."

In the white paper, "The Evolving Importance of eService in Go-To-Market Strategies for Web-based Enterprises", Peters further articulates the Metrix position on eService strategy. This thought-leading piece provides a valuable framework for organizations to consider the positive impact of eService on their corporate eBusiness strategies.

Both of the above mentioned white papers are available for downloading on the Library of documents section of Metrix web site at http://www.metrix.com/newsroom/news_library.asp.

Additionally, the Service Chain white paper, as well as the Metrix ProductService CRM™ Buyers guide are available at http://www.metrix.com/events/bannerad_form.asp, where readers can enter the current Metrix Palm VIIx giveaway (note: This PDA is one of the many mobile solutions platforms supported by the Metrix field service Techlink® product family).
