Mobile Techlink offers new flexibility and extensibility to organizations looking to automate their mobile field service and field force operations
Waukesha, Wis. (Monday, June 16, 2003) -- Metrix, Inc. (www.metrix.com), an international leader in product service automation software, announces the introduction of Mobile Techlink®, a field force automation solution that provides real-time direct connectivity between hand-held communication devices and any mix of enterprise applications.
The Mobile Techlink architecture is extensible in use by providing connectivity workflow and transactional synchronization with any CRM, ERP, SCM and other back-end system, including Baan, JDE, Oracle, SAP and Siebel.
Harvey Shovers, vice president of sales & marketing for Metrix, Inc. states "We are excited about bringing the wealth of Metrix service automation and field force experience to a large new market place. This is the first time a leading vendor in service management solutions has delivered a product for field force automation that is real-time and entirely platform independent. Our ability to provide seamless integration to organizations existing service solutions is a big step forward in the field force automation marketplace."
Mobile Techlink, powered by Orsus Solutions, combines best practices in field service and field force automation with industry-leading technology and connectivity capabilities to provide a "best of breed" mobile application.
SmartOffline™ technology allows Mobile Techlink to excel in today's intermittently connected wireless environment. When online, users receive and process alerts and needed time-sensitive data. When offline, users continue working, using pre-stored, local data. SmartOffline also utilizes network- and bandwidth-based synchronization to avoid heavy data exchanges when the network is either too expensive or too slow.
Transactional synchronization enables Mobile Techlink users to receive and send time-sensitive data needed to complete critical activities. Data delivery is guaranteed, and messages are automatically prioritized. If the wireless connection is broken, Mobile Techlink automatically queues unsent messages to be sent as soon as the connection is restored.
The Mobile Workflow feature enables Mobile Techlink users to define end-to-end mobile processes and manage the data flow between mobile workers and back end systems to fully automate processes, eliminate manual work and increase ROI.
"Providing field technicians the ability to work in both a wireless and disconnected environment, with a solution specifically written for a field forces daily activity, is something our customers and we see as critical to operating in a real-time environment," Shovers added. "Combined with Metrix capabilities for scheduling optimization, knowledgebase solutions and intelligent device management we now provide the critical components necessary to achieve optimal service results."
"Metrix chose Orsus because they felt our mobile architecture made the perfect complement to its Web-based software solutions and integrated applications for the field service market and an ideal backbone for its new Mobile Techlink offering," said Avrami Tzur, vice president and general manager Americas, at Orsus. "By leveraging our unique Mobile Workflow and SmartOffline capabilities and coupling them with its leading product service automation tools, Metrix can offer companies a complete, customized solution to empower their field technicians."
